Center for Counseling, Coaching & Consulting
Office of Career Development

The CNU Office of Career Development staff explore ways to increase students’ knowledge of careers to help them while they are choosing a major and/or career path. Alumni working in various fields can be excellent resources of career information. They can provide students with a real world perspective of what students may experience within a typical day in a profession.

There are a variety of ways alumni can assist a student:

  • Volunteer to provide occasional informational interviews.
    • Involves a conversation over the phone, by email or a meeting at your place of business, whichever is more convenient
    • The student would be interviewing you, asking various questions about your career
  • Become a mentor
  • Discuss the possibility of internship participation at your company

Our online system, eCampusRecruiter, provides students with the ability to contact and connect with alumni for their career exploration needs. Please click on eCampusRecruiter to become a volunteer. To register, select the Mentors icon from the list on the left side of the screen, then complete the registration form.

We encourage alumni to participate by volunteering in this program. Participation can make a significant difference to CNU students while they are researching career fields.

Please contact the CNU Office of Career Development for additional information at 757-594-8887 or email us at ocd@cnu.edu. Thank you!
